China’s foreign minister Qin Gang has been dismissed after only seven months on the job and no reason has been given for his dismissal.

The minister had not been seen in any political ties for almost four weeks, he was absent from a meeting with the Vietnam Public Ministry in June and also absent from the Asia Foreign Ministry.

The 57-year-old minister was named to the ministry as the youngest ever, he has been known for achieving in a decade what it took his predecessors years to accomplish.

Matters had become intense upon his missing from the public scene for almost a month and many argued that due to the country’s opaqueness government system, many feared he had been detained.

Sources claim the minister was a close ally of  Xi himself and that his absence could mean he was not capable of handling his job probably.

There is however light at the end of the tunnel for the ousted minister who still gets to retain a sit in the state council.
