Niger General declares himself as head of state.

Abdourahamane Tiani the chief general of the Niger army has publicy declared himself as head of state after the president bodyguards detained him and ousted him from power.

The army general had previoiusly spoken against the economic hardships in the country , the constant activities of the Jihadist in the Sahel region and other unjust trends in the country.

Niger was seen as a Democratic country with an elected government in two years , it was viewed as a very trusted ally of the West in the Sahel region, beign rich in Uranium it has become a power house mineral hub for the West who continuje to sewarch for extra power to enrich its nuclear activities.

n April 2007 the government issued uranium exploration permits to Areva (now Orano), Rio Tinto and others for the Tchirozérine area, 40 km northwest of Agadez. An Indian company took out an exploration licence in the Arlit region.

In January 2022 Niger’s government granted four exploration permits to Tejia Resources for uranium in the Arlit and Tchirozérine departments of the Agadez region.

When Issoufou was in power, the presidential guard was “particularly spoiled”, says a well-placed source which Issoufou hoped would protect him against any attempts at a coup d’état in a country that had already seen four since independence in 1960. The guard consists of approximately 700 well-equipped and trained troops, and about 20 armoured vehicles.

To make matters even favor the Coup, the citizens are in support as some are seen wavering the Russian flag as a sign of appreciation for the Wagner presence in Africa especially Burkina Faso.
