Dwayne Wade inducted into Basketball hall of fame.

Dwayne Wade, the Miami Heat legend who left an indelible mark in the history of the NBA on August 12 after an impressive record during his 16 years journey in the NBA which includes one of the greatest shooting guards in the history of the NBA.

The NBA legend had some powerful words to describe his emotions, appreciation and gratitude. He thanked his family for their undying support from day one including a special one to his partner, Gabrielle Union.

“To my loved ones, the ones who have become my lifeline, y’all are my safe haven—a place where I can always retreat to with minimum fear of judgment,” he stated. “I’ve laughed with you. I’ve cried with you. I’ve been saved by you. I’m protected by you and I’m loved by you. I am who I am because of all of you. You’re the embodiment of unconditional love, and that’s all I ever wanted and needed. That’s all I ever wanted to show in return.”

He went to express his gratitude to Gabrielle Union Wade for her love, care and support.

“Thank you for making our house a home,” he noted. “Thank you for making sure our kids feel seen, heard and protected when I’m not around. Thank you for learning every ref’s name in the NBA and for screaming at them so I didn’t have to—saved a lot of fine money. I know I’m traveling for work this year during our anniversary so I want to say thank you for being on this journey for me, with me, these past 15 years. Thank you for learning to love my imperfections just as much as we’ve enjoyed and loved the moments of perfection. I love you.”

Dwayne Wade wasn’t the only one enshrined into the NBA Hall of Fame. Other great athletes were also inducted. The following legends were welcomed into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield including Gene Bess, Gary Blair, Pau Gasol, Becky Hammon, David Hixon, Gene Keady, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Gregg Popovich, Jim Valvano and the 1976 US Women’s Olympics Team were also honored.

Dwayne Wade’s name is forever cemented as one of the greatest to ever play basketball and the great feats of the NBA legend are impeccable which includes  three NBA Championships, 13-time NBA All Star, an 8-time member of the All NBA Team and a 3-time member of the All Defensive Team.

His wife Gabrielle Union Wade took to Instagram to share her thoughts as well. She wrote “By his side through it all.”

His daughter Zaya Wade also congratulated her dad in beautiful words on Instagram.

“My dad is a Hall of Famer,” Zaya wrote on the social media site Instagram. “I’ve never been more proud in my life to know someone as kind, loving, and accepting as he is. He is one of my best friends. I love you dad.”
