Ballon D’Or 2023 Nominations; Is it going to be a showdown between Messi and Haaland? Ballon D’or 2023 nominations to be announced today. The annual awards for footballers is set to announce its nomination today.

This announcement was made on the official website of the organizing body. In the announcement they made it clear the date for this year’s event and the venue.

“The identity of the next winner of the Ballon d’Or, who will succeed Karim Benzema, winner in 2022, will be known on October 30. The prestigious award, awarded by France Football, will be presented that day at the Théâtre du Châtelet, in Paris, the magazine said this Friday. The names of the 30 nominees for the men’s trophy and the 20 nominees for the women’s trophy will be known on September 6”

Benzema won the previous award and went into the 2022 World Cup as the winner of the prestigious award but he was unable to compete in the group stages due to injury.

Many pundits and analysts including fans have kept the debate going on who will win the ultimate prize. Some are optimistic that the 7 times winner Messi is going to win it again this time looking at his performance at the World Cup and winning the World Cup is a plus for him. Some are also of the view that , the kid from Dortmund Haaland who had an impeccable first season at Manchester City winning the Uefa Champions League, The English Premier League and the FA Cup is enough for him to win the ultimate prize.

The nominations will be announced today and on October 30, maybe we will see a new kid on the block  or Messi is going to keep cementing his name as one of the greatest players ever.
