Could Sarah Ferguson Have a New Role as Morning TV Host?
The Duchess of York is being linked with a guest slot on This Morning as a replacement for Holly Willoughby
Sarah Ferguson might add a new job to her royal résumé.
That’s the betting at the moment, as bookmakers install the Duchess of York (popularly known as Fergie) as a favorite to sit in the chair vacated by a TV favorite in the U.K.
Last week, Fergie — who had breast cancer surgery in June — had a successful stint on the chat show Loose Women. Now that This Morning in the U.K. is looking for replacements for the departed Holly Willoughby, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew has reportedly been linked to the job.
The speculation was first reported in The Mirror, which said that she was in talks for a guest slot on the morning sofa. A source told the paper, “Everyone thought she was a natural. There is an open invitation for her to return to Loose Women and there is also talk of her doing a guest slot on This Morning or a mini-series for them.”
“She has done quite a lot of TV work before — at one point she stood in for Larry King in the U.S.,” the source continued.

Ladbroke’s Alex Apati said in a statement: “The latest odds suggest there’s every chance Fergie gets the gig.”
The Duchess, 64, is a regular guest on chat shows and earlier this year sat around the table on The View.
She has a series of historical novels in the works and is already an accomplished podcaster via her The Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah show, in which she shared updates on her cancer diagnosis and her children and grandchildren. She and Prince Andrew are grandparents to Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s sons — August, 2, and Ernest, 5 months — and Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s 2-year-old daughter Sienna plus Edo’s young son Christopher Woolf, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Dara Huang.
“My grandchildren have also been spectacular healers. Joy and laughter can be powerful tools when it comes to healing,” the Duchess recently told PEOPLE.
