Trump’s New Compliment For His Market-Tanking Tariffs Is Beyond Bonkers

The president kept giving himself flowers for the potential catastrophe.

President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social Sunday that his tariffs are “a beautiful thing to behold” and are “a very beautiful thing!”

That’s a whole lot of “beautiful” for market-cratering taxes on foreign goods that even Bill Ackman, a billionaire hedge-fund manager who’s a Trump ally, warned could result in “a self-induced economic nuclear winter.”

“This is not what we voted for,” Ackman wrote on X.

Trump appeared to whitewash the financial devastation and escalating trade war with sweet talk of his widely criticized levies.

“We have massive Financial Deficits with China, the European Union, and many others. The only way this problem can be cured is with TARIFFS, which are now bringing Tens of Billions of Dollars into the U.S.A. They are already in effect, and a beautiful thing to behold,” Trump wrote. “The Surplus with these Countries has grown during the “Presidency” of Sleepy Joe Biden. We are going to reverse it, and reverse it QUICKLY. Some day people will realize that Tariffs, for the United States of America, are a very beautiful thing!”

In another defense on Sunday Trump called the sweeping tariffs “medicine,” continuing his bizarre medical jag.

“Sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something,” he said on Air Force One.
