Kaley Cuoco Reveals She’s Embraced Postpartum Treadmill Workouts: ‘Amazing for Your Butt and Legs’

Kaley Cuoco is embracing her postpartum fitness journey.

The actress, 37, shared with TODAY.com earlier this week that she has been loving treadmill workouts since she and her boyfriend, Tom Pelphrey, welcomed their daughter, Matilda, in March.

“Putting that incline up is so good for your muscles and for your circulation. I’ll also walk backward, which is amazing for your butt and legs. It pretty much works everything,” she told the outlet.

While each of Cuoco’s treadmill sessions lasts about 25 minutes, they vary between backward walking workouts and 10-minute forward-facing HIIT (high-intensity interval training) routines. She told the website that her routine is “important for my body and my heart.”

“And you never leave a workout and go, ‘I wish I didn’t do that.’ Even if it wasn’t the workout you envisioned, even if it was a little bit more low-key,” she told TODAY.com. “Getting a good sweat sets the whole tone for the day.”

As for whether Cuoco and Pelphrey, 41, ever do workouts together, The Big Bang Theory alum told the outlet that they prefer going solo.

“We like very different things. He does a lot of lifting. He does a ton of pull-ups and I can’t even do a single one. That’s our hour to ourselves,” she said.

The actor went public with Cuoco in May 2022 when he posted Polaroid photos of the two on Instagram, paired with a lengthy, heartfelt caption. That September, they made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Emmy Awards and announced they were expecting their first child together a month later.

And in May of this year, Pelphrey exclusively told PEOPLE that life as a first-time dad is “the most beautiful thing ever.”

“I’m so grateful to have a partner who I love to do it with because just two days with a baby in the house and I think of parents who are raising kids by themselves, and I don’t even understand how they do it. My respect for single parents has gone through the roof,” he said.

Since Matilda’s birth, the two have shared updates about her milestones on Instagram. One of the most recent uploads involved photos of her first foray into fancy dress for Halloween.

Cuoco shared adorable snaps of Matilda on her Instagram account alongside the caption, “🎃 Halloween first timers🎃1) Tildy the old lady 2) Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters! 3) winner winner 🐔 dinner! 4) the cutest 🐝 5) our own personal 🏈”
