James Cameron denies movie speculation about the Titanic submersible.

James Cameron has taken to Twitter to debunk rumors that he’s working on a movie about the OceanGate submersible tragedy.

The Canadian filmmaker had to clear the air on speculation a movie project based on the said tragedy.

He took to his twitter account to state the truth “I don’t respond to offensive rumors in the media usually, but I need to now” James Cameron tweeted. “I’m NOT in talks about an OceanGate film, nor will I ever be”

On 18 June 2023, Titan, a submersible operated by American tourism and expeditions company “Ocean gate” imploded during an expedition to view the the Titanic’s wreck in the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada.

On board the submersible were Stockton Rush, the CEO of OceanGate; Paul Henri Naegeolet, a French deep sea explorer and Titanic expert, Hamish Harding, a British billionaire businessman; Shahzada Dawoo, a British billionaire businessman; and Dawood’s son Suleman.

The news of the tragedy spent days trending on Twitter and other social media platforms and people started making their own speculations about the tragedy to the point where to some people a spin-off of the 1997 epic Romance Titanic which was directed by the award winning director James Cameron.

James Cameron couldn’t help it but deny the rumors hence posting on his Twitter page the truth.
