Camilla makes strong decision regarding King Charles, Prince Andrew at Balmoral Castle
King Charles sidesteps clash with Prince Andrew with Camilla’s support
Queen Camilla is “blocking crunch talks” between King Charles and Prince Andrew amid the ongoing tensions surrounding Royal Lodge according to inside sources.
The King is said to be seeking for the Duke of York to vacate Royal Lodge, where he has lived since 2003, and to downsize due to escalating security expenses.
Although the brothers are currently on holiday together at Balmoral Castle, it is claimed that Queen Camilla, 77, is keeping the pair “at arm’s length”, reported GB News.
A close friend of the King and Queen said: “Charles does not like confrontation at the best of times and especially when he is on holiday.
“They are not in each other’s pockets at Balmoral and probably only regularly see one another at dinner.
“This summer the King needs rest more than ever. The cancer treatment has been tiring and it makes him often fall asleep.
“I can’t think of anything guaranteed to make him go off the deep end than to have Royal Lodge brought up.”
In February of this year, Buckingham Palace revealed that the monarch had been diagnosed with cancer and would be undergoing treatment. Initially, King Charles reduced his public engagements to focus on his recovery.
However, by April, he resumed attending public events, including a trip to France for the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
A source informed The Mail that Camilla is likely taking steps to safeguard her husband’s well-being while at Balmoral, ensuring he does not become overly fatigued.
The source added that during Christmas, Andrew attempted to arrange a meeting with the King, but Camilla kept him at a distance.
King Charles is continuing the tradition of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, by residing at Balmoral until October each year.
Last week, the 75-year-old monarch inspected the Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland at the gates of Balmoral as he began his summer stay at the castle.
In addition to the Yorks, the King and Queen are also expected to be joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
