Celine Dion pays tribute to late ‘cherished mentor’ Quincy Jones
Celine Dion ‘had the privilege’ of working with the legendary music producer on multiple occasions

Celine Dion is paying her respects to the musical legend Quincy Jones, who passed away at age 91 on November 4, 2024.
Taking to her social media a day after his death, the Queen of Power Ballads reflected on Jones’ monumental influence on music and their cherished time working together.
“I am heartbroken to learn of the passing of my friend, the one and only musical genius, Quincy Jones,” she wrote. Dion described him as both a “cherished mentor” and a towering figure who left an indelible mark on American music.
The Grammy winner continued, “I was privileged to work with Quincy, it was a dream come true. In our sessions, his musical intuition was nothing short of profound.”
Dion shared how Jones guided her through creating a “little piece of heaven” in her music. “Quincy always knew exactly what each song needed,” she noted.
Alongside her admiration for his musical prowess, Dion praised Jones’ philanthropy, especially his dedication to supporting the arts, fighting famine, and aiding underprivileged youth.
“His reach truly extends to all corners of the globe,” she added.
