Chase Chrisley Is ‘Taking It Slow’ with New Girlfriend Jodi Laine Fournerat (Exclusive)
Chase Chrisley has a new love interest in his life and they’re taking the relationship one step at a time.
Four months after announcing his split from his ex fiancée, Emmy Medders, a rep for the Chrisley Knows Best alum, 27, confirms his new relationship with girlfriend Jodi Laine Fournerat to PEOPLE.
“It’s been a couple of months so it’s still early,” a rep for the reality star says. “But they’re taking it slow and enjoying their time together.”
On Nov. 7, Fournerat, a New Orleans-based travel surgical technologist, made things Instagram official when she posted a picture of Chrisley embracing her from behind. “Happy is an understatement ♥︎,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
In the comments, Chrisley left a single white heart.
Though the real estate agent has yet to share his new romance on his own feed, he did repost a mirror selfie of Fournerat in her surgical scrubs to his Instagram Story after she tagged him in her original Story.
“When your man’s in town to see you, but you’re on call & surgery demands your presence,” she wrote over a photo that featured a shot of her posing with a thumb down.
Chrisley’s relationship news comes after he announced his separation from Medders, 26, in early August. Their breakup came less than a year after their engagement, which occurred months after the pair reconciled following a brief split.
“Everybody has been asking a lot of questions regarding Emmy and myself,” he wrote on his Instagram Story at the time. “We both and [sic] agreed to part ways and move on with our lives separately. Thank you for respecting our privacy.”
His rep later told PEOPLE that Chrisley had “nothing but love and respect for Emmy and wishes her well. Unfortunately, things didn’t work and they are both moving on with their lives.”
During an appearance on his sister Savannah Chrisley’s Unlocked podcast in September, he recalled the bumpy road that led to the breakup — and what the future holds. The Nashville native admitted while he “learned a lot of lessons” from the whole experience, things weren’t perfect between them.
“Our entire relationship, it wasn’t all bad times,” he said. “I mean, I’ve got a lot of s— I’m dealing with, she’s got a lot of s— she’s dealing with. She just chose to leave me while I was dealing with my s—, but we mutually agreed to part ways.”
Chrisley continued, noting how he’s been feeling “great” and “doing real good now.”
“I’m definitely over the hump. It was rough there for a little while but I’m over it now,” he explained. “God hears conversations we don’t hear and sees things we don’t see. He moved her out of my life and I’m grateful for that because it clearly was not meant to be.”
