Kayla Tausche is cementing her status as a girl mom.

The CNN Senior White House Correspondent, 37, has welcomed her third baby girl with husband Jeff Izant, a rep for the couple tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Daughter Margaret McCall Izant — nicknamed Maisie — was born on Wednesday, Nov. 8, weighing 7 lbs., 3 oz. and measuring 20 in. long.

“We are in newborn heaven and enjoying every moment with Maisie! We find ourselves just staring at her, just in awe of this miracle,” Tausche shares with PEOPLE.

Tausche says the “most special part” of welcoming the newest member of the family has been seeing big sisters Grace, 2½, and Catherine “CeCe”, 5.

“The most special part has been watching our daughters step into their new roles and welcome this tiny little person onto their sister squad,” the proud mom raves. “Jeff has been an incredible partner in parenthood, keeping all of our needs addressed.”

When it came to a name for the new arrival, the big sisters were involved in the decision-making.

“Maisie’s older sisters chose the name Margaret, which they initially discovered from Daniel Tiger but soon learned came from the family tree on both sides,” Tausche says. “Margaret means ‘pearl,’ and Maisie means ‘little pearl’ — we loved both, so we plan to call her Maisie until she decides otherwise.”

Maisie’s arrival comes during a year of changes for the journalist, who “started a new job at CNN at six months pregnant.

“I didn’t know what to expect, but everyone at CNN has been more incredible than I could have even imagined,” she shares. “I already miss my amazing teammates in the White House booth, where they ensured we always had Fruit Roll-Ups, pickles, and McDonald’s french fries – the only foods that didn’t make me sick – on hand while we were on deadline.”

Tausche notes, “It’s really difficult to step away from a news cycle with such important, if excruciating, stories to tell, but I know they will never be in short supply — especially with a campaign getting underway.”

The couple is looking forward to spending the rest of 2023 soaking up the joy that comes with a growing family during the holiday season.

“We are so thankful for the doctors and nurses who ensured her safe arrival and the support of colleagues, friends and family who continue to help us through this wild journey!”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           source: people.com
