‘EK601 to Dubai’: Wasim Akram’s plan for Pakistan cricket team

Former cricketer praises US for performing well in T20 World Cup and qualifying for Super 8

The Pakistan cricket team has been eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024 after losing their first two group matches to debutants United States and arch-rivals India.

Pakistan suffered humiliating defeat at the hands of US and India, failing to qualify for the Super Eight stage of the tournament.

Seeing Pakistan’s underperformance in the T20 World Cup and their ultimate exit, legendary cricketer Wasim Akram expressed disappointment and trolled the Pakistan team.

Replying to the reporter, Wasim started off by congratulating US team, saying they’ve done “amazingly well.”

“The USA deserves to qualify for the Super 8s as they have defeated Pakistan in the round match,” said the former cricketer.

However, Wasim trolled the Pakistani team as he talked about what’s next for them.

“EK601, to Dubai, and then to their respective cities, and then we see what happens from there onwards,” he said while referring to the flight number.

Similarly, former captain Waqar Younis shared similar sentiments. Fuming over the “horrible” batting display, Waqar highlighted the missed opportunity after India’s low score.
