The Lioness booked their place in the finals of the 2023 Women’s World Cup after beating co-host Australia 3-1. England is Sydney bound on Sunday for what’s going to be an all European encounter between England and Spain, who made it to the finals after a late winner from their captain Olga Carmon tamed a resilient Sweden.

England scored the first goal through E. Toone 36 minutes into the first half. Australia had no answers for that in the first half but came back into the second and from the Chelsea forward Sam Kerr, Australia equalized in the 63 minutes.

The two teams gave their all at this point and it was more about who wanted it more. England took the lead again in the 71st minutes through

Lauren Hemp and from there, England never looked back; They added another goal through

Alessia Russo 3 minutes to the end of regulation time, which cemented their place in the finals of the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

Sam Kerr has been criticized for her inability to capitalize on the opportunities she had thought she gave everything in her. This is the  first Women’s World Cup finals for both Spain and England and it’s going to be an epic encounter since they are both poised to make history.

The finale of the Women’s World Cup is happening on Sunday August 20 in Sydney, Australia between Spain and England.
