George Clooney is getting chivalrous!

The actor attended a London screening of his movie, The Boys in the Boat with wife Amal Clooney on Sunday and made sure they were both protected from a typically wet British night by holding up an umbrella.

Amal, 45, wore her hair down for the event as she sported a figure-hugging velvet gown, while George looked dapper in a dark suit and white shirt.

George, 62, also took time to sign autographs for fans, as well as pose alongside the movie’s stars Joel Edgerton, Callum Turner and Bruce Herbelin-Earle.

Back in October, PEOPLE received an exclusive first look at The Boys in the Boat, which George directed. Adapted from Daniel James Brown’s book of the same name, the movie follows the journey of the University of Washington rowing team toward the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.

“Rowing, particularly in the 1920s, was the No.1 attended sport in the United States,” George said in a behind-the-scenes clip of the movie. “The Boys in the Boat is about strong, tough kids, but they were poor and hungry. They’re rowing because it was the only way they could stay in college.”

George Clooney and Amal Clooney’s Relationship Timeline
On September 29, George and Amal were joined by their parents for another glamorous night at Scalinatella in New York City.

Linking arms with his mother, Nina Clooney, the actor wore a black button-up shirt and blue jeans. Nina also linked arms with Amal’s mother, Baria Alamuddin, who was dressed in a black top, tweed gray pants and silver pointed heels.

While Amal’s father, Ramzi Alamuddin, was not photographed during the outing, the human rights lawyer was seen linking arms with George’s father, Nicholas Clooney, as they made their way out of the restaurant.

George and Amal, who share twins Alexander and Ella, 6, tied the knot in Venice, Italy, in September 2014.
