Is Victor Osimhen staying at Napoli or going to Man United?
The prolific striker Victor Osimhen who helped Napoli to its first Serie A title in 33yrs has come under the spotlight for speculations by media outlets and pundits on rumors of his departure to Manchester United. Manchester is keen on a singing a striker to help them clinch the English Premier League next season and one person they have been so keen on is the 24yr old Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.
He cemented his name last season as one of the strikers to watch after a record of 31 goals with 26 league goals which propelled the Serie A giants to lift the scudetto last season.
Manchester United have not really found a replacement since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo who left on a mutual agreement last November and the club is looking for someone to get the goals for a chance at glory.
Inasmuch as Manchester United and other clubs are interested in Victor, Napoli isn’t ready to lose him on a cheap price with two years left on his strikers.
That’s because Napoli want his release clause to be set far higher, at £173million (€200m) €200m. That figure would effectively render the clause a moot point as top clubs won’t go near it. The Serie A champions don’t want to lose Osimhen for anything other than a profit, having paid Lille around £70m for his services three years ago.
