Manchester City is on the verge of signing Jeremy Doku; its third signee this season after signing Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea for £25m and Josko Gvardiol at £77m fee.

The winger had an impressive season with the Ligue 1 side Rennes and had some laudable results there. His creativity, dribbling ability and his speed makes him one of the best wingers in football currently and his addition to the current Manchester City squad is definitely going to cause a huge impact for the club and in the English Premier League this season.

He became the most expensive signee in the history of Rennes when he joined them in October 2020 at a fee of €26m including bonuses. His ability to win duels and complete any dribble he attempts make him one of the favorites in the eyes of pundits and fanatics .

His speed and creativity appear to be the replacement for Riyad Mahrez. Having averaged 6.8 dribbles per game in Ligue 1 last season – more than any other player in any of Europe’s top five leagues.

That’s not all, he carries the ball 356 meters per 90 minutes on average.

Thiery Henry who worked with him at Belgium described him as a player you should always pray anytime you are one on one with him due to his ability and skills.

One thing that’s worrying about him is injury concerns. If he can be in the best of shape for Manchester City, he’s going to be an excellent addition to the squad and an asset as well.
