Joey Graziadei Fears He’s ‘Holding Back’ as He Searches for His Forever Love in New Bachelor Teaser

Joey Graziadei of ‘The Bachelor’.
The Golden Bachelor might’ve just ended, but Bachelor Nation already has a new Bachelor season to look forward to.
During Thursday’s Golden Bachelor finale, during which Gerry Turner got engaged to Theresa Nist, ABC premiered a new tease for Joey Graziadei’s Bachelor season, debuting Jan. 22.
The clip begins with a voiceover of Joey being named as the Bachelor in the media with women around the country flocking to meet him in person.
“I’m just a normal guy that was looking to find my person,” he tells cameras.
As Joey embarks on his “worldwide quest” to find his true love, clips of the women fighting, kissing, exploring and falling in love with the bachelor are shown. The dramatic season also includes a special appearance — and some insightful advice — from Golden Bachelor alum Kathy Swarts.
“The person that’s gonna challenge you to be a better man, that’s the woman that’s gonna go the distance,” she says in the teaser.
Later, Joey admits to cameras that his own hesitations are standing in the way of him finding love. “I’m ready to find my wife, but I’m scared that someone that I’m really starting to express how I feel to doesn’t feel the same way,” he says.
As more heartbreak and tears are shown on camera, Joey can be heard saying: “I just thought we’d have more time.”
In a dramatic final moment, Joey breaks down in front of cameras. “I want to let go, I want to be fully in it and I’m trying, but I’m finding myself holding back,” he says. “Last time it got taken away, I don’t want to feel like that again.”
The teaser comes after the first glimpse of Joey’s season was shown in a preview during the penultimate episode of The Golden Bachelor, and later during commercial breaks for the finale episode.
“I just feel the most ready that I’ve ever been to be in an engagement, a marriage,” he said in the clip as footage from his season were shown on screen. “I get butterflies.”
Host Jesse Palmer announced Joey, 28, as the new Bachelor in August after Bachelorette lead Charity Lawson sent him home in her finale and got engaged to Dotun Olubeko.
“It’s sinking in very slowly but I’m trying my best just to stay present, enjoy it, but this is crazy,” Joey said at the time. “I mean, I’ll be the first person to say this is wild. I never expected this at all, didn’t know this is what my life is turning at this moment. So yeah, crazy stuff, but I’m excited.”

On Instagram after the news broke, Joey confessed he experienced “true heartbreak” on The Bachelorette, but he looked forward to his journey as the Bachelor.
“I cannot wait to see what unfolds over these next few months,” the tennis pro wrote. “I have grown immensely with my time on the show and know that I’ll always have room for more growth. But I feel more ready than ever to find my person.”

He continued, “I know this won’t be easy, but I can promise you that I will give it my all and try to just enjoy the hell out of it. All I can do is be myself through and through and hope I’ll be lucky enough to find love.”
Joey told Good Morning America that his gut will tell him when he’s met the right person. “You just have that feeling,” he told Kelley Carter.
The Pennsylvania native also shared what he learned from appearing on The Bachelorette.
“You just want to be fully committed to it all and understand that there’s a lot of things that are out of your control,” Joey said. “But what I’m taking in is just fully leaning in to it and taking it for whatever its going to be.”
