John Oliver Zaps Taser Company’s Fine Print In A Takedown For The Ages

John Oliver covered a different current affair on Sunday ― Tasers. (Watch the video below.)
On “Last Week Tonight,” the comedian debated the safety of the less-lethal device used by law enforcement to stop suspects and couldn’t help but notice how the fine print has evolved to be absurdly comprehensive.
Oliver noted that multiple studies cited incidents of heart disruptions in the mid-2000s, and how manufacturer Axon eventually beefed up its warnings not to aim for the chest and groin.
The disclaimer, he said, “also warns about the risk of using this product on people who are old, young, frail, agitated, exhausted or suffering from an array of health conditions.”
“Quick sidebar to anyone doesn’t fall into any of those six categories,” Oliver continued. “Let me say as one who falls into five: Go fuck yourself.”
“And all of that helps to protect Axon from liability.”
Fast forward to 17:20 for the fine print portion, or watch the whole electrifying segment:
