King Charles issues heartfelt statement on historic Japanese state visit
King Charles and Queen Camilla welcomed the Emperor and Empress of Japan to the UK
King Charles and Queen Camilla wholeheartedly welcomed the Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress at Horse Guards Parade in London.
On June 25, the official page of the royal family shared a series of photos featuring the Japanese royalty, the Monarch, Camilla and Prince William.
The statement reads, “The Emperor and Empress of Japan have been welcomed to the UK by The King and Queen during an official ceremony at Horse Guards Parade in London.
“During the ceremony, the Guard of Honour – formed by the Welsh Guards – gave a Royal Salute and the Japanese National Anthem was played.”

Notably, the Monarch’s sister and the most active working member of the royal family Princess Anne is set to miss out state banquet for the Emperor and Empress at Buckingham Palace due to her horrific accident on Sunday evening.
King’s sister is presently under observation in the hospital for the treatment of her injuries and concussion.
Previously, The Independent reported that a Palace spokesman said, “Her Royal Highness’s engagements for the week ahead will be postponed.”
The Palace further said, “Her Royal Highness sends her apologies to any who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result.”
“The Japanese State Visit will go ahead as planned, though sadly Her Royal Highness will be unable to attend the State banquet.”
