Meghan and Prince Harry’s children are “enjoying every minute” of the holidays, she told reporters

Just days after stepping out in Montecito, California, Meghan Markle walked the red carpet in Los Angeles for Variety’s Power of Women event.

The event celebrates the publication’s Power of Women honorees, who each get their own Variety cover. Meghan, 42, was honored last year, and told reporters on the red carpet that she was “proud” to be in attendance to offer her support.

This year’s Power of Women honorees are Fantasia Barrino, Billie Eilish, Lily Gladstone and Carey Mulligan. LuckyChap co-founders Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara were being awarded with the Producer of the Year award.

While she attended the event without Prince Harry, she shared with reporters that her favorite holiday tradition is that their “little ones are enjoying every minute of it.”

The royal couple moved to California in 2020 with their son, Prince Archie. They welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet, in June 2021 in Santa Barbara, California.

Meghan’s comment about enjoying the holidays with her little ones comes two days after Tyler Perry revealed his nickname for Lili, who is his goddaughter. He did so while appearing on the latest podcast episode of Let’s Talk Off-Camera with Kelly Ripa.

“Little Lili,” Perry said when asked about his sweet moniker for the toddler. The filmmaker added, “She’s so adorable,” he said. “Oh, she’s so beautiful. She’s just so beautiful.”

In an interview with Variety for last year’s honor, Meghan opened up about the possibility of her kids joining the entertainment industry in the future.

“When you become a parent, you genuinely want your kids to find the things that bring them complete joy,” Meghan said.

“They’re our kids, obviously, and they’re part of a legacy and a tradition and a family that will have other expectations. But I want them to be able to carve out their own path,” Meghan explained.

“If it’s the entertainment industry, great. And also, good luck. There are so many people that will talk about what opened the door for my children. But it still takes talent and a lot of grit. We’re creating multidimensional, interesting, kind, creative people. That’s who our kids are.”
