Messi’s Inter Miami clinched Leagues Cup against Nashville; The Club’s first ever trophy.

At the Geodis Stadium in Nashville, Inter Miami won the Leagues Cup after beating Nashville FC on penalties 10-9. This is Messi’s first ever finals appearance since joining Inter Miami and he has won it and this is the club’s first ever trophy. It was his goal in the first half that saw them through to the finals.

The intensity of the game took off when Lionel Messi found the back of the net 23 minutes into the first half. Nashville came back in the second half and did everything to equalize and it came through Picault 57 minutes into the second half.

Inter Miami’s goalkeeper Drake Callender who stopped Nashville FC’s tenth penalty to decide the winner shared his thoughts after the game.

“It’s a huge honor to play a role in making our first win in a final. It’s pretty surreal and emotional,” Inter Miami goalkeeper Drake Callendar said on Apple TV after the game.

Messi won the league cup top scorer with 10 goals whiles Drake Callender won best goalkeeper of the tournament.
