Mindy Kaling Visits N.Y.C. with Kids for Thanksgiving: ‘This Is the Most Special City’
Mindy Kaling and children spend Thanksgiving 2023 in New York
Mindy Kaling continues to share her gratitude after her family’s Thanksgiving in New York.
On Thursday, the multi-hyphenate, 44, shared an Instagram video montage of clips from her family’s Thanksgiving celebration in the Big Apple with short clips of her 5-year-old daughter Katherine “Kit” Swati and her son Spencer Avu, 3.
“Seriously needed this trip to New York with the family. I feel like Michael Scott saying this but man this is the most special city,” Kaling captioned the post, referring to Steve Carell’s The Office character.
“The kids saw their first Broadway show, skated at @wollmanrink, had drippy hot cheese at the Bryant Park holiday fair, went on the subway, Central Park carousel, ate Lilac chocolates, and even somehow made public bathroom trips fun. Thanks New York!”
The first clip shows the back of both of her children’s heads as they looked out the window to a Central Park view below. In the following clip, the brother and sister sat beside one another on the subway train, watching their reflections in the train’s windows.

As the montage continued, Kit said “woohoo” to her younger brother as they watched an ice rink’s resurfacer clean the Central Park Wollman rink.

The Never Have I Ever creator included clips of the family enjoying an autumn day in Central Park, featuring Spencer ice skating with a skate assist.
Kaling shared a few more snippets of the family’s New York activities, set to Mitski’s “My Love Mine All Mine.” The Office alum’s remaining clips included shots of their snacks, walks in the park and rainy moments at Lincoln Center.

The mother of two also shared snippets of the family’s holiday on Instagram Stories last week.
She included a photo of the children wearing matching blue and white pajamas as they look down on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade below.

Another photo showed a picture of a half-eaten donut with pink icing and sprinkles, which Kaling wrote was the family’s “Thanksgiving Breakfast.”
