Like most Hip Hop Stars Nelly is the latest among many who have hit the golden buzzer button by selling a portion of their music catalog, which is fused with some of the most hit songs ever heard around the globe.

According to TMZ, the St. Louis hitmaker bagged a whopping $50million deal by selling half of his discography. This includes eight albums spanning a string of hits, a lot of which played a crucial role in elevating 21st-century Hip Hop and R&B.

According to surfacing reports, the rapper is teaming up with HarbourView Equity Partners, parting ways with much of his famous tracks such as “Hot In Herre” and “Dilemma,” among several others.

These songs fetched the rapper one of the most coveted prizes in the music industry notably the Grammies, songs like “Shake Ya Tailfeather” also stood as a straw in winning him the famed price but we still do not know whether it was included in the deal or not.

Nelly is the latest in a long line of artists who have parted ways with some — if not all — of their catalog. Last year, Future sold a huge chunk of his publishing catalog of songs from 2004 and 2020 and walked away with a massive eight-figure payday. The deal included 612 songs by the Southern rapper.

Logic and Metro Boom went home with a whopping 70 million after Metro Boom sold a portion of his existing publishing catalog to Shamrock Capital whiles Logic struck a deal with Influence Media Partners a US-based music and rights company in a deal that made the sum discreet but the source claims the Maryland rapper included 185 of his songs.

Puff Daddy Meanwhiles remains defiant and is not in a haste to sell unlike many of his countrymen but we are yet to see if the rapper can stand the test of time.
