Oprah Winfrey is wowing on the red carpet.

The media mogul, 69, attended the Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on Sunday and was dressed to impress.

Wearing a Dolce & Gabbana purple gown, Winfrey oozed with glamor as her dress shimmered for all to see.

“It’s a purple kind of night. Off to the @academymuseum gala with my @thecolorpurple family 💜,” Winfrey wrote in her caption as she posed for an Instagram snap in front of a cream sofa. The star also reposted a red carpet photo with actress Danielle Brooks.

The A Wrinkle in Time star was joined at the event by her longtime friend, Gayle King.

Meanwhile, Winfrey’s fun outing comes after she discussed the importance of diverse books at the 74th National Book Awards Ceremony & Benefit Dinner in November.

The star went on to speak about the impact of The Color Purple and the upcoming movie musical based on Alice Walker’s 1982 novel, starring Halle Bailey, Taraji P. Henson and Jon Batiste.

“I’m talking about the readers who picked up The Color Purple 40 years ago and found the kind of truth that I found in those pages,” Winfrey said before she quoted a passage from the book.

Describing in her speech how the novel, which won the 1983 National Book Award for Fiction, has been adapted throughout the years, Winfrey said, “That is the power of a story well told,” she said. “Thank you Alice Walker.”

Alice Walker became the first Black woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for The Color Purple in 1983.
