Prince Andrew has been given a smart advice to avoid criticism amid ongoing controversy about his connection to an alleged “spy”.

The Duke of York has been urged to ease tension of cancer-stricken King Charles and the royal family with his one positive gesture.

The 64-year-old, who might not be appearing in the public with the royal family again, has been “asked to keep his head down” following the scandal, an insider has claimed.

Sarah Ferguson’s husband will stay away from the Firm’s traditional Christmas gathering at Sandringham this year after his connection to 50-year-old Yang Tengbo, who’s being called a “Chinese spy”.

The source claimed: “I find it hard to imagine he will ever join them again in public, if I’m honest. There’s only so many times the duke can be asked to keep his head down and wait for the storm to pass. Enough is enough.”

Andrew has already been stripped of holding any public role or patronage over his links with disgraced paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and sexual assault accusations – which he strongly denied.

In January 2022, Buckingham Palace said in a statement: “With the Queen’s approval and agreement, the Duke of York’s military affiliations and royal patronages have been returned to the Queen.”

The source told the Daily Mail, “Brits should expect to only see Andrew with the royals at events like weddings and funerals.”

On the other hand, royal commentator Charles Rae has claimed that despite Andrew’s inability to choose the correct friends, it will be almost impossible for the 76-year-old king to cut him off from the family.

Rae explained: “Charles can’t get rid of him because he is his brother and he’s still a member of the family, it is that simple.”

Prince Andrew, father of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, was due to join the family on the traditional walk to church at Sandringham on Christmas Day, when Britons see pictures and video of the members of the royal family in the press.

Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York, will also miss Christmas at Sandringham as a show of solidarity for the Duke as she reiterated to stand by scandal-hit Prince, saying: “I won’t let him down. He supports me as much as I support him. He’s supported me through thick and thin, not just marriage or divorce.”
