Prince Edward carries Royal duties as Sophie recovers from golf ball incident
Prince Edward’s public appearance offers hope after Sophie’s accident

Prince Edward made a public appearance in Cambridge just one day after his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, was struck in the head by a golf ball.
The Duke visited Wandlebury Woods, where he enjoyed a coffee from a pop-up shop housed in a converted horsebox.
The outing, which was reported by Julie Spence, Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, focused on conservation and land management efforts at the site.
Despite the recent incident involving the Duchess at Legoland, Edward’s engagement highlighted his continued commitment to royal duties.
Prince Edward’s recent public appearance is being seen as a reassuring sign following his wife Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh’s unfortunate accident.
On Tuesday, she was struck in the face by a golf ball during a game of crazy golf at Legoland Windsor.
The incident, captured by royal photographer Tim Rooke, occurred while Sophie was launching the NSPCC’s Numbers Day 2025 initiative.
As Patron of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), she had been attending the event when the ball, struck by the Duchess, bounced back and hit her head.
