Prince William impresses farmer during visit to sustainable Hereford farm
William toured the Hereford farm to learn about its innovative regenerative farming techniques
Prince William’s recent visit to Lower Blakemere Farm on the Duchy of Cornwall estate left a lasting impression—not just for his dedication to sustainable agriculture but also for his unexpected stature.
The Prince of Wales toured the Hereford farm to learn about its innovative regenerative farming techniques and efforts toward achieving net zero.
During the visit, tenant farmer Heather Gorringe, who has worked the land since 2000, was struck by William’s towering presence.
“I didn’t realize just how tall he is,” she remarked about the 6ft 2in royal, adding that his approachable nature made the experience even more memorable.
Gorringe, who previously met both William and King Charles at St. James’s Palace, reflected on the transition of leadership within the Duchy.
She noted that while Charles has farming in his blood, William is carving his own path with a strong focus on environmental stewardship.
She praised the Prince’s commitment to sustainability, highlighting the importance of his role in shaping the future of British agriculture.
