Prince William and Kate Middleton have left fans guessing with their surprising move on the eve of Prince Harry’s milestone birthday .

The Prince and princess of Wales made a kind gesture after hearing that a London food bank was targeted by thieves and had thousands of pounds worth of goods stolen.

After hearing about the burglary, William and Kate made a donation of £3,500 to help replenish the missing stock.

The couple’s move comes when Prince Harry is gearing up to celebrate his 40th birthday on Sunday, September, 15. Some royal fans believe the move seems to be a pleasant message for Harry that they are giving charity on his big day.

Reacting to the couple’s gesture, Pecan chief executive Peter Edwards told the BBC: “This surprise donation by the Prince and Princess of Wales – following such a difficult spell for their family – underlines their kindness and decency.”

He added: “After serious ill health, their first thought was of how to help others.

“Their generosity will inspire staff and volunteers to redouble Pecan’s efforts to alleviate poverty in London.”
