The Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat signs a new deal with Manchester United from Fiorentina. He has made a move from Fiorentina to the English Premier League on a loan deal with Manchester United.
He was one of Manchester United and Erik Ten Hag’s top targets during the just ended summer transfer window. There was a lot of behind the scenes conversations and some people even had to give up calling the deal “A failed project” But at the 11th hour, something positive happened and Fiorentina had to let him go on a loan deal to one of the EPL and Europe’s top clubs Manchester United.
The club announced on their official website the signing of the player from Fiorentina in the Serie A League:
“Sofyan Amrabat has joined Manchester United on loan from ACF Fiorentina until June 2024, subject to international clearance and registration requirements.
The midfielder has been capped 49 times by Morocco and played every minute of his country’s run to the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Last season, Amrabat played a key role as ACF Fiorentina reached the final of the Coppa Italia and UEFA Europa Conference League.”
Erik Ten Hag who was in dire need of a defensive midfielder did all he could to secure Sofyan with an impressive statistics Passes completed – 1323, Passes received – 1196, Touches in the mid ⅓ – 1106 , Carries – 1054, Progressive Passes – 176, Passes into final ⅓ – 158, Ball recoveries – 157, Dribble success – 71%. With such a record as a defensive midfielder, every club would love to have him in their squad.
Sofyan who was elated about his new club shared his thoughts:
“It is a huge honour to become a Manchester United player. I’ve had to be patient for this moment but I’m someone who always listens to my heart and now I am representing the club of my dreams.
“I am a passionate player; I want to bring that energy to the squad, and I will put everything into every action I take for the team.
“I know exactly how Erik ten Hag likes to work and what he needs from his players.
“His coaching and guidance developed me so much as a player earlier in my career.
“I know that he will help to bring out the best of my abilities so that I can help the group to be successful this season.” The Moroccan stated.
Sofyan had an impressive performance at the 2022 World Cup helping his country Morocco to the semifinals of the tournament and becoming one of the most talked about players of the tournament.
