The singer behind the successful Eras tour Taylor Swift ties record for most VMA wins in one night. At the end of the ceremony, Taylor Swift ended up winning in nine of the 11 categories she was nominated in.

Swift is tied for most wins in one night and not just that, this also gives her the record for second most overall wins according to MTV.

Taylor Swift won the ultimate award “Video of the Year” for ( Anti- Hero ) including the following awards:

1. Artist of the year
2. Song of the year (“Anti-Hero”)
3. Best pop (“Anti-Hero”)
4. Best direction (“Anti-Hero”)
5. Best cinematography (“Anti-Hero”)
6. Best visual effects (“Anti-Hero”)
7. Show of the summer
8. Album of the year (“Midnights”)

The night saw some thrilling performances from Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B., Demi Lovato, Olivia Rodrigo, Kaliii and Nicki Minaj et cetera. Sean “Diddy” Combs took home the Global Icon Award, Shakira won the Video Vanguard Award making her the first South American artist to win the coveted award.

The MTV VMAs paid homage to the the impact of Hiphop with a 50th anniversary of hip-hop.
