What message did Ronaldo give Toni Kroos on retirement?
Cristiano Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid teammate announced retirement earlier this week
Cristiano Ronaldo recently sent a message of support to his former Real Madrid teammate Toni Kroos after he announced that he’ll hang up his boots after the Euro 2024 with Germany.
The Al Nassr star commented words of support for the German on Kroos’s post, saying: “For everything and so much more, Toni. What an honour to share the field with you. All the best for the future.”
The five-time Ballon d’Or was among many other notable players who paid tribute to Kroos after his surprising announcement.
Ronaldo, 39, and Kroos, 34, shared the field for four years while playing for Real Madrid and won 11 titles together.
These titles include one La Liga, one Supercopa de España, three Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, and three FIFA Club World Cups.
They ruled the football pitch as the dynamic duo from 2014 to 2018.
Kroos will play his last La Liga game on Saturday with Real Madrid where they will face Real Betis, before locking horns with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on June 1.
His German side begin their Euro 2024 campaign against Scotland on June 14.
